Vintage Decor

Vintage decor allows us to have a house with original furniture and objects, and for our home to exude a certain air of style and elegance, but not everyone knows how to choose the right pieces.

Vintage decor allows us to have a house with original furniture and objects, and for our home to exude a certain air of style and elegance, but not everyone knows how to choose the right pieces. In Lasose Properties & Investments we give you the keys to this decorating style so that you can give your home a new look.

The furniture that inspires vintage decoration is stripped down, used-look furniture; you can also look for designs from other eras, such as an antique two-seater mini sofa, an Elizabethan chest of drawers, a leather chesterfield sofa, an antique armchair or an antique recovered dressing table that can be used as a sideboard or piece of furniture for the living room. Nordic furniture of the 50s and industrial style are also suitable for vintage novices.

This type of furniture can be found in auctions and flea markets. Remember that an important part of vintage-style decorating is the search for unique furniture and objects with character that speak to you, and that you can envisage being in your space.

If you want to include pictures in your decor, this style is best suited to geometric motifs and black and white photos framed in wood. Always use aged wooden frames for both paintings and mirrors.

For the walls consider using vintage style wallpaper featuring flowers, paintings, and images that recreate nature. And of course, install metal lamps.

Vintage kitchens are characterised by their neutrality with pastel colours, as well as the combination of white furniture with natural wood worktops.

Bathrooms, in turn, need elements such as standing basins, telephone taps, lever controls and cross handles, without forgetting hydraulic floors.

The main thing to remember if you aren’t clear about how to bring this style into your home, is to start including it bit by bit. Refer to leading home decorating magazines or ask the experts for advice; they will advise you so that little by little you become an expert in vintage.
